Updating the Chrome OS on your Chromebook

1.  Select the System Tray and select Settings.

 

 

2.  Select "About Chrome OS" in the lower-left corner.

 

 

3. Select the "Check for updates" button.

 

 

 

4.  If the Chrome OS is up-to-date, you will will see the the screen below. There's nothing more that you need to do!

 

 

5. If your Chrome OS is out-of-date, the update will start to download and you will see "Updating your device" like the screen below. Please note that depending on the size of the update and your internet speed, this can take up to an hour or more to download.

 

 

6. Once the Chrome OS update has been downloaded, please select the "Restart" button to complete the update.  Your Chromebook will restart and you will have to log in again.
